Herbet Art Gallery and Museum, Coventry

I went on another gallery visit, this time to the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum in Coventry for the Caught in the Crossfire exhibition. It explored how artists have responded to the brutality of war and the desire for peace. It examines key themes starting with the tragic events that occurred in Coventry during the Second World War.

Just like the Birmingham Gallery, the building itself was inspiring. It was such a wide and open place which such a sense of space, especially the entrance area, which was a lovely start to the gallery visit. The ceiling let so much light shine though, with golden coloured wood creating structure with the glass. All this creates a geometric pattern and when at different angles the curve of the roof could be seen. The bright day helped to make the space even brighter and allowed blue sky to be seen through the windows which complimented the tinted blue glass.
